May Long Weekend

On Friday, we went to Applebee's to celebrate Andrew's birthday.
Joshua tried to teach Andrew how to hold up four fingers.
Enjoying their sundaes for dessert. We were disappointed that they didn't come to sing "Happy Birthday" for Andrew. So we made sure to sing it a few more times before the day was over.

Natalee and Caleb.

On Sunday, we skipped church because four out of five kids were still coughing significantly and we hit the park instead. We weren't in the best neighbourhood as you can tell by the houses in the background, but I did get some half decent pictures of the five children before Wyatt had his nap.

Natalee, Wyatt, & Andrew snuggled together on the couch.

Wyatt and Andrew were both at the Doctor's office today. Wyatt is 15 lbs. 15 oz. and 27" long. He has also started rolling from his back to his tummy over the last few days. Looking at Caleb and Joshua's height and weight at their four year appointments, Andrew is 2 lbs. heavier than Caleb was at 4 years old and an inch taller than both Caleb and Joshua were. I keep warning Caleb and Joshua to be nicer to Andrew because some day he's going to be bigger than they are! They don't believe me.
Back to the coughing...when we went out for brunch on Mother's Day, Natalee was coughing a lot and wasn't feeling that great. Caleb said, rather loudly, "Maybe she has that cold from Mexico!" I assured him she didn't and told him not to scare the other people in the restaurant. :)

Andrew's Birthday Party

We celebrated Andrew's 4th birthday yesterday with Grandma & Grandpa Bergman, Uncle David & Shayleen. Andrew got his favourite, Texas Potatoes, for supper. He requested a chocolate cake, and I decided to try a new recipe. Here's the birthday boy with his huge cake! He loved the sparkler but was scared of it at the same time. The middle is cream cheese, 2 cups cool whip, and 12 crushed oreo cookies.

Andrew got a toy coffee maker, and much coffee was made, shared, and consumed last night. All the kids wanted to get their hands on it.

Mike decided to package Wyatt as a present...there was some extra room in the bag.

Mother's Day

My most favourite thing about Mother's Day is the things the boys have made for me at school. Joshua made this card (one of two cards he made for me):

And Caleb made this book, "What my Mom does best."

Joshua's classmates each had to complete the sentence "I love my Mom because..." and you can see his at the top "She makes me food."

I also got a plant from Joshua, a geranium, I believe.
And Caleb made this flower holder with four beautiful tissue flowers.

Fortunately, the day was sunny enough for our annual Mother's Day picture. This was the best picture of the three Mike managed to take. The kids were awfully squirmy and not very cooperative.

On Thursday, Natalee spent most of the day sleeping. She is still getting over a bad cold, which Andrew has now too.
And Wyatt, showing off his baby blues.

I took the oldest four children to the Skatepark on Sunday as a reward for good behaviour in school. They were not happy about wearing their pads & helmets, but they did end up having a good time.
Natalee posing for the camera. She had lots of fun running around.

Caleb...

Andrew had a great time running and rolling down the hill. Natalee tried it once but ended up in the bushes.
Andrew got a Lightning McQueen comic and he "read" it to Wyatt.
Wyatt sitting in his bumbo for a few seconds.
