Thank You, Grandma B.!

I had to post 2 pictures of little Andrew enjoying his waffles this morning. The first you can actually see him with his food, but he doesn't look very impressed. The flash on my camera kind of stuns him, so it's hard for him to smile nicely with his eyes open...hence, picture 2 gives you a little better idea of how he enjoyed his waffles & fruit!

Grandma Bergmann sent waffles & fruit home with us after supper last night. All 3 boys (& mom) enjoyed them for breakfast this morning. And we wanted to let you know, Grandma, that if you ever want to leave a comment regarding the blog or leave your special waffle recipe here for everyone to have, you can click on the "comments" right at the bottom here of this entry. And thanks again for the waffles!

We came home a short while ago and as always we check our favorite blogspot,"The Bergmann Boys". We were so pleased to see little Andrew enjoying his waffle. Andrew you are so adorable--as are Caleb and Joshua. Caleb, Joshua, Andrew, we are so proud of you and whenever possible we show off the pictures posted on the blog. Thank you Angela for the joy you give us sharing some thoughts, stories and pictures of your children and our grandchildren. For those of you who are interested in my waffle recipe, hereitis: Buttermilk Waffles---sift together into a large bowl:2 cups flour,1 teaspoon baking soda,1/4 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1/4 tsp. cinnamon. Mix in separate bowl: 2 egg yokes beaten, 1/3 cup melted butter,[I often use oil],2 cups butter milk. Separately, beat 2 egg whites into peaks, until stiff but not dry. Make a well in the dry ingredients, and add buttermilk and egg batter will be slightly lumpy. Fold in beaten egg whites until just combined. Preheat waffle maker. Pour about 1/3 or just a bit more into the waffle plates. Close lid and bake and ENJOY!
