The Long Weekend

May long weekend...the weather forecast was bleak, but many people braved the weather and decided to go camping. For instance, Grandpa & Grandma Voth were among the brave folks who headed out in their camper. Lucky for them they weren't tenting! We went out for a visit on Saturday afternoon, since the forecast for Sunday was rain. We ate barbecued hotdogs and hamburgers for supper. Caleb and Joshua were thrilled to finally eat outside! They have been begging for a picnic for a while now.
While the rest of us filled our tummies, Aunt Margaret cuddled with Natalee. Unfortunately, Natalee wasn't as happy as the rest of us to be outside! I hope that next year will be different.
Andrew eating an ice cream cone in the gravel. Maybe this is when he got his wood tick??? Yes, he got a wood tick firmly stuck on his head, and after much experimenting and NO complaining from him, Daddy & Grandma managed to get it off! Mouthwash, apparently, is one thing that helps woodticks loosen their hold on human skin. Either that, or Andrew just tasted bad! But how could such a sweet boy taste bad?
At the lake. The boys lost the pail. A toy sand pail!! They sent it out on the lake and the wind blew it away! They tried their best to do their own impressions of fishing. A good time was had by all, even though we did manage to find another three wood ticks before we headed for home.
